The Puppini Sisters are a musical trio specializing in 1940s-style close harmony vocal music. Marcella Puppini founded The Puppini Sisters in September 2004. Marcella was born in Bologna, Italy. She started playing the piano aged 5, and dreamed of becoming an opera singer. Having acquired a Fashion degree and spending several years in the Fashion industry, Marcella left the Fashion world and embarked on a degree course at Trinity College of Music, studying Jazz Performance and Composition. In September 2004, Marcella started The Puppini Sisters. The idea was to have fun, but pretty soon the Puppini Sisters started getting noticed and things snowballed very quickly. Four years later she has a gold disc under her belt for sales of over 100,000 copies of Betcha Bottom Dollar. Stephanie O'Brien is the red-headed violin playing femme in the group. Her relationship with jazz and classical music came from singing along to her brother's piano playing. Stephanie collects instruments like she does beauty products and currently has a small piano, violin, red 'S'shaped electric violin and gorgeous rosewood harp amongst others. Kate Mullins took a four year course in Jazz singing at Trinity College of Music. It was through this hotbed of artistic talent that Kate met two other singers with whom she would later combine with to create the Puppini Sisters.
