About Peter
Best described as an unconventional banker, Peter Ibbetson has balanced a diverse career in banking with real business, both in the NonExec world and as an SME owner in his own right. Labelled 'a bit of a Del boy' by his children he maintains a singular business approach of 'getting into the mind of the enemy'. Understanding an individual's agenda better than the individual themselves puts him at a clear advantage, whether that be in negotiating multi billion Dollar aircraft financings around the world, which he did for nearly a decade, whether it be managing the most aggressive of interviewers on Radio 4s Today Programme, whilst managing one of the most damaged brands through the 2008/9 financial crisis, or whether it be convincing a conference of cash strapped business owners that bankers are empathetic and human. Currently Chairman of Small Businesses for the RBS Group, Chairman of the Lenlyn Group of companies, and a Non Executive Director of Utilyx Limited, he also runs his own business, Primedia Solutions which is a bespoke consultancy 'managing the firepower of the media'.
Having close links with Government, a high media profile and a history in banking he touches the three most unloved sectors in the UK.
So when not watching his back, he has developed a wealth of experience in the art of 'gentle persuasion'.
