UK record holder and British champion for the past nine years, Goldie Sayers has her sights set on London 2012. She is already a double Olympian – she missed out on javelin bronze by just 38cm in Beijing in 2008 and was the youngest member of the UK’s track and field team in Athens in 2004. An Olympic, World and European Championship finalist, Goldie consistently features in the world’s top ten in her discipline. She has progressed from the junior ranks – setting a new UK under-20 record to win silver at the 2001 European Junior Championships – alongside Mo Farah and Chris Tomlinson. Former County tennis, hockey and netball player (and national under-11 table tennis champion) Goldie is also a classically-trained violinist and pianist. Goldie – who gained a First Class Honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University – is also ‘at home’ on stage. She is an experienced motivational speaker whose message – ‘attitude is a small thing that makes a big difference’ – resonates with any audience from salespeople to schoolchildren.
